JayLynn's first day of school

My baby is in school now!! She was so excited. This morning she came in at 7:45 asking when she could leave for school and I told her she had 4 hours. She has afternoon kindergarten with Mrs. Knight. Well she kept asking every 5 minutes or so when she was leaving. She was so excited to get on the bus....No Fear!

White Water Rafting down the snake river!!

I had a blast going river rafting this past weekend. My friend Jen turton called me and said her friends were taking her rafting and a few spots opened up at the last minute so she invited us to go with her. I had mentioned to her before me wanting to try it. Well I have to say I had a freakin' blast! It was tiring but well worth it! I looked so funny when I lost my paddle on the big kahuna....I almost fell out so I let go of my paddle to grab the rope to pull myself back in...(Broke rule number one..save your paddle before yourself, LOL)..Anyways....can't wait to go again!

My babies are growing up too fast!

O.K. so this past week has been so bitter sweet for me! School just started for Savannah she is in Third grade already. I can't believe how fast time has gone by! She is so mature and smart. She is also very independent and she likes to do things n her own. JayLynn starts kindergarten on Monday. So I have mixed feelings about the mile stones JayLynn has had just in this past week! A few days ago she lost her first tooth, then the next day (day before yesterday) she learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. Leandro only had to work with her for about 35 minutes and she had it down. She looked so cute riding it around showing off. I can't get her off of it now. Then we went to my nieces birthday party and it was a princess party and she didn't even want to dress up for it. I feel like she is growing too fast without my permission. I am happy for her but I never thought my babies would grow so fast!

My friend Finally moved back to us!!

Melanie, Tammy, Angela (me)

My friend of 16 years, Tammy whom I really consider to be one of my sisters just moved back to Utah from California. She had been living in Thousand Oaks for about 10 years. She found a home in Lehi so we can be close. I am so excited she is back. We have allot of catching up to do. The other night I was invited to go karaoke with a few friends so I brought Tammy and Melanie with me. It was fun.....except I was too chicken to get up and sing. Melanie got up a couple times, she did a great job.

Mural madness! My mural painting on line!

So my friend Jenn had been asking me for months if I could paint a mural for her son's room. I kept puting her off until I got a call from some videographers from Expert village .com . They wanted me to do a "how to video for the internet" So I thought What better time to paint Jaron's room! (Jenn's son) Jenn ahd a hard time figuring out what to have painted because Jaron likes so many different things. We decided to go with a construction truck mural. So I went and painted the room with a videographer from expert village...Judi (Jenn's mom and my friend) helped me towards the end of the video to get it close to being finished. Well I didn't hear from the folks from expert village at all after that day. I tried calling the lady who set up the appointment and no one ever called me back. I did searches on expert village and my video was not there so I thought maybe they never put it up. So now it has been like 8 months since I painted his room and I am sitting on the computer today and I decided to do a google search for murals for some ideas and a video of ME pops up on you tube!!! I am like WHAT!! Well I guess they finally got my video up! Anyways you should check it out! Here is the link I would love for my family and friends to post comments and ratings! There are 20- 60 second clips so you don't need to see all of them.

Angela's costume craze...it's an addiction!

As most everyone who knows me, knows I love to sew costumes. Me and my sisters love to sew together. My sisters and I want to have a huge costume closet!
My mother was an excellent seamstress. She passed away 11 years ago. She would make us the best costumes for Halloween every year. Our costumes blew everyone Else's costumes away. None of us girls had any interest in sewing when we were younger. Just over three years ago my sister Amy had the desire to start sewing, she made a few really cool Lord of the rings costumes. Well That sparked my interest in sewing so I decided to give it a try...The first project I did were my girls Renaissance dresses. They are the white medieval style dresses at the top of the photos. I have been hooked ever since. There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment after you finish a great costume or gown.
I love to think to myself "I created that!." It is very therapeutic for me because I lack patience and sewing helps me with that!

I just wanted to post some photos of the costumes I have sewn. I know I am not being modest, but sewing seems to be a lost art now a days and I am proud to be able to do it. My sisters have done some amazing costumes as well I will post some pictures of theirs at another time.
As you can tell I love Disney costumes!

These are the white dresses I made for Savannah and JayLynn. This was not an easy first sewing project I guess I got over any intimidation with sewing!

My sister Beth looked so good as Cinderella! I am happy with the way it turned out!

This past February I made costumes for JayLynn's 5th birthday party which was a "Princess and Pirate theme". I made a Custom Jack Sparrow Costume for Leandro and he looked so good in it. I wanted a pirate costume for myself so i made me one. I also made a Custom Cinderella gown for JayLynn and custom Aurora gown for Savannah. The girls wore their custom princess gowns to Disneyland and everyone was in awe at how beautiful their dresses were.

I also made custom Princess dressess for Savannah and JayLynn to wear at Disneyworld in 2007. I made a Blue Sleeping beauty dress for JayLynn and a Belle dress for Savannah. They loved them so much that I decided to make more this year! They will only be little girls once right!

I wanted to sew the adult size Disney Princess gowns. I have been looking for Adult Disney Princess patterns for a while and I couldn't find anything so I took a southern Belle pattern and altered it to make it look like Cinderella's ball gown. I changed the sleeves and added the side puffs. It turned out so nice. I also made a custom Fairy Godmother costume. I am so excited to do the other princesses now! My sister Beth wore the Cinderella gown to my friend's daughter's 4th birthday party. Beth looked amazing! she looked just like Cinderella! The Fairy God mother dress turned out nice also. Laken (the birthday girl) wore JayLynn's Custom Cinderella gown for the party and JayLynn wore the Belle dress I made for Savannah the year before.

Anyways this post turned out allot longer than I anticipated...sorry..... Hope you like the pictures.

Savannahs birthday party

We celebrated Savannah's 8th birthday at our house. She had her birthday while her Avo Nerly (grandma) was here in utah visiting. My sister Molly made her a guitar cake because she loves to play the guitar. Avo Nerly (grandma) made yummy brazilian pizza, pao do queijo (brazilian cheese rolls), and a huge cake for the party guests. The food was a big success! Savannah loved all of her birthday gifts. She got some cash and bought herself a bike with her birthday money.
